"Govt wants to change demography in East", SLMC Leader Hakeem

“The Government is trying to change the demography in the Eastern province by planned settlements and well-organized land grabbing“, charged SLMC Leader Rauff Hakeem at a Press Conference held in Colombo today.

Raising a privilege issue in Parliament today over the pruning of security entitled to him and three other parliamentarians,

SLMC leader Rauff Hakeem vowed to go international on the matter if the security is not restored.

“The government is sponsoring illegal militant groups in the East and the withdrawal of security has put the MP’s lives in jeopardy”, he added.

Meanwhile Media Minister Anura Yapa today claimed that SLMC leader crossed to the opposition over an issue with a state institution and not any Muslim concerns. He added that the government is ready to face any political situation in the country.
